Ingredients
  • 1oz Ming River (strong-aroma baijiu)
  • 1oz Sweet red vermouth*
  • Tonic water
  • 1
    Pour baijiu and vermouth over ice in a highball glass.

    Top with tonic.
  • 3
    Garnish with a lemon twist.

Proving that the simplest drinks are often the best, this kinda-sorta riff on the Americano is a dangerously easy-to-drink baijiu tonic. If General Tso made Americans swoon for Chinese food, General Ming will make Americans fall in love with Chinese alcohol.

*We used Belsazar vermouth, but most red wine-based aperitivos work well as substitutes.
